A Really Juicy Morsel...
The following is information about a breathing technique that I learned a few years ago at some random class that my girlfriend signed us both up for (The Art of Living). Although I found most of the class quite pretentious, some of the stuff I learned there was invaluable, specifically, the Sudarshan Kriya.
Plants
So from the primordial soup came single celled organisms, then after millions of years plants showed up. They took carbon dioxide out of the air (which was plentiful back then) and broke it down. This leftover stuff, mostly carbon is what we're made of... the plants were like refineries, churning out raw material to make animals. Think about it, plants need animals in order to ensure survival.
The future of conciousness...
In the future, when the machines that we build start to approach the complexity of a human being, will we need to inhabit organic shells anymore? What will happen when the number of computers that are interconnected on the planet equals or surpasses the number of neurons in a human brain?
Spacetime
Spacetime is probably one of the greatest realizations in history. Time is just a matter of location and everything in the universe is moving.
You are probably sitting in a room somewhere right now. This room is part of a building, which is on the surface of the Earth. The Earth is rotating in space and moving around the Sun. The Sun is also rotating and moving around an even more massive body at the center of the galaxy. Our galaxy is also rotating and moving. and so on and so on.
